Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Computer Science, AI, ML or related Engineering field.
• Experience in research and development or academic settings.
• Proven track record of translating research concepts into prototypes.
• Strong knowledge of AI agent architectures and data-intensive systems.
• Familiarity with knowledge management approaches and software design.

Role Overview

We are seeking an entrepreneurial, forward-thinking Research ScientistAI, Data and Agent to lead transformative research initiatives from conception to real-world impact. In this role, you'll bridge cutting-edge academic research with practical industry solutions, turning exploratory ideas into measurable business value for our customers. You'll spearhead research initiatives in Data- and AI-driven Innovation across diverse domains—including Sustainability, Production IT, and Robotics—leveraging advanced technologies such as AI agents, knowledge-based systems, and machine learning to solve complex industrial challenges. What You'll Do (Key Responsibilities)

• Lead multidisciplinary research projects from initial concept through deployment and customer handoff, owning outcomes at every stage.
• Embrace an entrepreneurial, agile approach by rapidly prototyping solutions, validating core assumptions, and iterating strategically to maximize research impact and business value.
• Act as the technical authority, guiding stakeholder engagement and ensuring strong alignment between customer objectives and project delivery.
• Engineer scalable, data-driven solutions by selecting and applying the most effective methodologies to address real-world customer challenges.
• Uphold technical excellence by balancing rigorous scientific standards with enterprise-grade software engineering practices.
• Formulate compelling research hypotheses, translate complex business needs into clear technical roadmaps, and communicate innovative solutions persuasively to leadership and clients.
• Remain at the forefront of innovation by actively tracking emerging developments in AI, data science, and adjacent technical fields to uncover new opportunities.
• Partner across cross-functional teams while distilling sophisticated scientific concepts into clear, compelling narratives for diverse audiences.

What We're Looking For (Qualifications & Skills)

Core Qualifications

• Master's degree (or equivalent) in Computer Science, AI, Machine Learning, or related Engineering field.
• Demonstrated experience in research and development or academic research environments.
• Proven track record of translating research concepts into working prototypes and functional solutions.
• Strong knowledge of current AI agent architectures, data-intensive systems, knowledge management approaches (such as knowledge graphs), and software design principles.
• Genuine enthusiasm for innovation with an entrepreneurial mindset and drive to create impact.
• Strong communication abilities—both written and verbal—to effectively engage with diverse stakeholders and customers.
• Demonstrated ability to thrive both as an independent contributor and collaborative team member in fast-paced, evolving environments.

Preferred Qualifications

• Ph.D. in Computer Science, AI, Machine Learning, or related Engineering discipline.
• Published research or papers presented at leading conferences in AI, data science, or related fields.
• Experience leading technical teams or managing research initiatives from conception through execution.
• Background in Sustainability, Production IT, Robotics, or similar industrial application domains.
• Experience architecting scalable software systems and designing robust technical solutions.
• Track record of successfully delivering end-to-end research projects from initial planning through customer deployment.
• Background in startup environments, product development, or commercializing research innovations.
