Job summary

A*STAR RESEARCH ENTITIES in Singapore is seeking a dedicated researcher to develop rapid single-molecule detection and sequencing technologies. You will conduct wet lab experiments, analyse data, and contribute to publications.

The role involves daily lab operations, inventory management, and close collaboration with PI and team members. A strong background in molecular biology and data analysis is essential; experience with fluorescence microscopy and nanopore methods is a plus.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Molecular Biology, Biochemistry or a related field.
• Prior experience in laboratory research involving yeast display, FACS, enzyme and DNA assays, protein expression and purification, nanopores or microscopy is preferred.
• Proficiency in routine molecular and cell biology techniques such as PCR, DNA/RNA extraction, sequencing, fluorescence microscopy, and cloning.
• Strong data analysis and presentation skills.
• Excellent verbal and written communication, able to prepare clear research documentation and contribute to team discussions.
• Highly organised, detail-oriented, with the ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.

Responsibilities

• Conduct wet lab experiments involving protein purification and assays using fluorescence microscopy and nanopore sequencing.
• Prepare research findings for publications, reports, and presentations.
• Undertake the day-to-day running of the project and collaborate with team members in supporting lab operation.
• Daily lab management tasks such as taking inventory and ordering.
• Conduct literature searches and analyse data, as well as assist in preparing progress reports.
• Maintain the highest standard of professional conduct and record keeping in accordance with policies and procedures.
• Assist with any other duties of a similar nature that are delegated by the PI.
• Experience with techniques related to microscopy, nanopore sequencing and nanopore data analysis, yeast display and FACS is a plus but not required.
