Responsibilities

• Receive trainings on ultra-high throughput NGS sequencing workflows.
• Perform sample QC, prepare sequencing libraries, and conduct ultra-high throughput sequencing.
• Analyze sequencing data and report results.
• Troubleshoot and document processes.
• Interact with bioinformaticians and evaluate outputs.
• Supervise and train junior staff; support ad-hoc projects.

Job Summary

The clinical lab is looking for Research Officer to support ultra-high throughput sequencing projects, such as precision medicine and population genomics. The ideal candidate would be well-rounded with molecular biology techniques and have a passion for implementing state-of-art technologies to serve the general population.

Roles and Responsibilities

• Receive trainings on ultra-high throughput NGS sequencing workflows
• Perform sample QC, prepare sequencing libraries, and perform ultra-high throughput sequencing
• Analyze sequencing data and report results in a timely manner.
• Assist in troubleshooting and ensuring proper documentation of all processes
• Interact with bioinformaticians and evaluate bioinformatics output
• Maintain lab equipment & documentation in accordance with quality requirements.
• Supervise and train junior staff
• Other ad-hoc projects as required
• May need to perform shift duties as required

Desired Skills and Competencies:

• Degree in Life Sciences or a related field
• Diploma in Life Sciences or a related field with 1 year working experience
• Meticulous attention to detail is the key
• Hand-on experience with NGS technologies is highly desirable.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills
• Keen to learn and good team player
• Comfortable with shift work is a plus.
