Job summary

National Neuroscience Institute of Singapore at SGH campus is seeking a Research Officer to analyze NGS data, perform QC, alignment, variant calling, and downstream analyses.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

We have a research position available in NNI @ SGH campus for highly motivated individual who have a strong desire and passion for analysing data in the Research landscape.

The candidate will be recruited to perform these following tasks:

• Performanalysis of next-generation sequencing (NGS) data, including quality control, alignment, variant calling, and downstream analyses.
• Analyze and integratemulti-omics datasets (e.g., genomics, transcriptomics, epigenomics, proteomics) to address biological research questions
• Develop, implement, and maintaindata analysis pipelines using Linux-based systems, R, and Python
• Interpret analytical results in abiological context, with a focus on molecular and cellular mechanisms
• Collaborate closely with wet-lab scientists to supportexperimental design and data interpretation
• Document analysis workflows, results, and methods to ensurereproducibility
• Any other duties as assigned

Job Requirements

• A Bachelor's in Computer Science or Software Engineering. Some exposure to Life Sciences, preferably with a major inGenetics, Biology or a related field is preferred.
• Proficiency in Linux-based environments and experience with R and/or Python for data analysis, with familiarity in using cloud servers for computational workflows.
• Basic knowledge ofmolecular and cellular biology is preferred.
• Basic experience withnext-generation sequencing (NGS) technologies, is preferred.
• Experience withmolecular biology, cell biology is an added advantage.
• Highly motivated individual, willing to assist and collaborate effectively within a team.
