Government Technology Agency (GovTech) in Singapore is seeking a detail-oriented data specialist to support collection, maintenance and organisation of arts and culture data. You will collate information from multiple sources, perform data cleaning and enter updates into relevant databases, while liaising to ensure accuracy and timeliness.
Ideal candidates will have basic Excel/Word/PowerPoint skills, strong research ability and excellent communication, with a keen interest in Singapore’s arts
The Data & Research (D&R) department leads Singapore's arts and culture research and data ecosystem, leveraging data analytics and robust data practices to shape national arts and culture policy and programme development. The department works closely with Government, academia, cultural institutions, and arts practitioners to strengthen research capabilities across the sector. As part of the D&R team, you will support the collection, maintenance and organisation of arts and culture data through research, information collation, data entry and data cleaning. You will also support the team in maintaining accurate and up-to-date arts and cultural information and databases, contributing to D&R's broader research and data efforts.
Research and Information Collation Comb through newspapers, media listings and online sources for visual arts and literary arts activities. Obtain additional details of arts and cultural organisations and societies based on raw listings through online searches and phone enquiries. Search, organise and collate data on arts activities, arts courses and other data required for reporting. Conduct desk research as required. Arts and Cultural Data Management Update the list of performing arts, visual arts and literary arts venues in Singapore based on information from various sources. Enter and clean up relevant data in NAC’s arts statistics database. Update and organise previous cultural statistics databases. Other Support Create presentation slides incorporating charts, images and data points. Create EDMs and support other ad hoc work as required.
Comfortable working with data, including data entry, collation, cleaning and updating of information. Basic proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint. Able to conduct online research and organise information from different sources accurately. Good communication skills, including confidence in conducting phone enquiries. Meticulous and organised, with good attention to detail. Interest in Singapore’s arts and culture sector would be an advantage.
