Job summary

VIVA FOUNDATION FOR CHILDREN WITH CANCER is seeking a lab-focused candidate to support paediatric cancer research. The role involves cell line maintenance, molecular assays, and collaboration across the lab to optimize protocols.

The successful applicant will have a life sciences degree and familiarity with Seahorse or Macsima platforms, plus a strong emphasis on safety and teamwork.

Qualifications

• Degree in Life Sciences or related field.
• Experience with Seahorse or Macsima equipment, tissue culture and molecular techniques is a plus.
• Interest in paediatric cancer research.
• Safety-conscious and eager to learn.
• Able to work independently and in a team.
• Good communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Generation and maintenance of cell lines.
• Perform molecular assays e.g. cell culture, drug screening, cell viability assays, ELISA, Western blotting, flow cytometry and microscopy.
• Assist in studies involving the Seahorse & Macsima equipments.
• Assist in optimization and troubleshooting of experimental protocols.
• Drafting SOPs and risk assessments.
• Maintain accurate and updated experimental records and documentation.
• Assist in data collation for presentations, reports, and publications.
• Prepare common lab reagents and buffers.
• Assist with lab operational duties, including inventory management, equipment maintenance, etc
• Ensure compliance with laboratory safety protocols, and regulatory requirements.
• General lab housekeeping duties.
