Job summary

Qualifications

  • A PhD degree in transport engineering, ocean engineering, maritime transport and management, computer science, or a related field from a recognized university.
  • Excellent programming skills, such as Python, C++, Java, Julia, or other competent languages.
  • A good record of publications in reputable peer-reviewed journals in maritime transport, logistics management, machine learning, deep learning, and optimization is desirable.
  • Proficient in verbal and written communication.
  • Experience in proposal writing and funding application is desirable.

Responsibilities

  • Develop state-of-the-art and innovative models and algorithms to improve port and shipping management efficiency.
  • Propose solutions to Maritime industry practical challenges using mathematical modelling approaches, including traditional operations research modelling, learning-based models, and Large Language Modelling (LLM).
  • Conduct extensive numerical experiments to validate and evaluate the performance of the proposed models.
  • Present research results as academic papers and reports.
  • Assist in the preparation of research proposals at different levels.
  • Perform data analysis and engage with stakeholders to support project objectives and effective communication.
