Job summary

NTU Singapore's School of Civil and Environmental Engineering invites a Research Fellow in Maritime Studies. The one-year appointment may be extended subject to funding and performance, with emphasis on advancing port and shipping management through advanced modelling.

The successful candidate will develop state-of-the-art models, conduct numerical experiments, present results in papers and reports, and assist in research proposals.

Qualifications

• PhD in transport engineering, ocean engineering, maritime transport and management, computer science, or related field.
• Proven programming skills in Python/C++/Java/Julia or similar.
• Publications in maritime transport, logistics, ML/DL, and optimization desirable.

Responsibilities

• Develop models and algorithms to improve port and shipping management efficiency.
• Propose practical maritime solutions using mathematical modelling and ML/LLM.
• Conduct numerical experiments to validate proposed models.
• Present research results in papers and reports.
• Assist in preparing research proposals at different levels.
• Analyze data and engage with stakeholders to support project objectives.
