Job summary

NTU Singapore seeks a modeller for earthquake hazards and building structural loss. You will lead probabilistic seismic risk analyses, model ground motion propagation, and quantify potential damage under seismic events.

The role requires a PhD in Civil or Earthquake Engineering and strong data analysis skills. You will collaborate with cross-disciplinary research teams, publish findings, and contribute to advancing urban lifelines risk research.

Qualifications

• A PhD degree in Civil Engineering or Earthquake Engineering in a closely relevant field.
• Familiarity with earthquake data, models and software used in earthquake hazard and loss modelling.
• Demonstrated competence of programming languages, such as MATLAB, R, or Python, within a GIS environment.
• Ability to publish and communicate effectively to both technical and non-technical audiences.
• Ability to advance other research areas in emerging risks such as related to urban lifelines and cascading failures
