Qualifications

  • PhD in Electrical or Electronic Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Cybersecurity, Applied Cryptography, or a closely related discipline.
  • Strong record of applied research, engineering leadership, or technology development in cryptography, cybersecurity, or secure systems.
  • Substantial relevant professional experience, including meaningful experience in an industrial, commercial, government, or applied-research environment.
  • Demonstrated experience leading or coordinating multidisciplinary technical projects involving multiple teams or organizations.
  • Strong understanding of public-key cryptography, post-quantum cryptography, cryptographic protocols, key management, and secure-system architecture.

  • Recommend research, engineering, prototyping, and industry-trial priorities.
  • Coordinate contributions from multidisciplinary and internationally distributed teams.
  • Make or recommend technical architecture, implementation, testing, and integration decisions.
  • Evaluate trade-offs involving security, performance, interoperability, cost, operational feasibility, and deployment risk.
  • Review the technical quality and readiness of research outputs, prototypes, and trial systems.
  • Identify delivery risks and recommend adjustments to scope, sequencing, resources, or partner responsibilities.
  • Guide researchers and engineers without necessarily holding formal line-management responsibility.
  • Contribute to partner selection, industry engagement, project development, and technology-transfer decisions.
  • Be accountable for timely, coherent, and outcome-oriented delivery of assigned Thrust 3 milestones and outputs.
