Job summary

Earth Observatory of Singapore (EOS) at NTU Singapore invites applications for a Research Fellow to join a multi-institutional project with PUB and CFI. You will develop and apply hydrodynamic and sediment transport models, perform field measurements, and integrate diverse datasets to understand sediment budgets in Southeast Asia.

You will publish findings, present results, and contribute to data management and project deliverables, collaborating with a multicultural team of researchers.

Qualifications

• PhD in a relevant field required or equivalent.
• Strong background in hydrodynamic and sediment transport modelling.
• Experience with field measurements in coastal/marine environments is desirable.
• Proficient in Python or MATLAB and data analysis; ML knowledge is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Develop hydrodynamic and sediment transport models for coastal systems.
• Conduct field measurements and analyse flow, turbidity, and sediment data.
• Quantify relationships between hydrodynamics and sediment erosion/accumulation.
• Support development of physics-based models for sediment pathways.
• Integrate modelling outputs with multidisciplinary datasets.
• Prepare technical reports, publications, and presentations.
• Maintain data collection and Data Management Plan submissions.
