Republic Polytechnic's School of Engineering (SEG), in collaboration with the School of Science (SAS), invites applications for a full-time Research Staff on a 12-month contract to support an applied R&D project focused on smart water treatment for recirculating aquaculture systems (RAS) in land-based fish farms.

The role involves prototype development, laboratory research, system integration, water quality analysis, field validation at commercial fish farms, and technology commercialisation.

Qualifications

• Qualification in Environmental Engineering/Science or related field.
• Interest in water treatment, aquaculture and water quality monitoring.
• Knowledge of sensors, instrumentation and data analysis is advantageous.
• Experience in laboratory testing or aquaculture is a plus.
• Entry-level candidates are encouraged to apply.

Responsibilities

• Conduct applied research on smart water treatment technologies for RAS.
• Perform laboratory experiments, aquaculture trials, water quality monitoring and data analysis.
• Develop, integrate and evaluate prototype systems and sensors.
• Collaborate with industry partners for validation and deployment.
• Supervise final-year students and interns.
• Support IP development, tech transfer and proposals.
• Prepare technical reports, publications and presentations.
• Manage lab equipment, procurement, safety, and consumables.
