Job summary

The National University of Singapore invites a Research Engineer to advance hands-on MEMS projects, including piezoelectric tactile sensors and MEMS gas sensors, with strong fabrication and testing responsibilities.

You will also work on design, modelling of neural networks for human-machine interfaces, write papers in top journals, and guide FYP experiments, while collaborating with a multidisciplinary team in a lab setting.

Qualifications

• Studied Piezoelectric MEMS tactile sensors; post-graduate level, A- or better.
• Strong hands-on microfabrication experience in clean room with publications.
• Minimum 2 years experience making and testing MEMS devices.
• Minimum 1 year experience in MEMS and Photonics design.
• Proficiency with L-Edit, Lumerical, CST, COMSOL, ANSYS.
• Fluent in English speaking and writing.
• Having more than 1 first-authored international peer-reviewed journal papers.

Job description:

Work on hands-on experiments for few of the following tasks:

• Design, Simulation, and Fabrication of Piezoelectric MEMS tactile sensors; MEMS gas sensors
• Design, modelling and testing of neural networks aiming for human-machine-interface
• Write 1 or more research papers based on derived data of the above devices in the first year in the top-notch journals
• Supporting and guiding the experiments of FYP students

Qualifications

• Have learned Piezoelectric MEMS tactile sensors; filters and sensors related courses for one semester at post-graduate level and earned score of A- or better.
• Strong background in hands-on microfabrication techniques at clean room and with journal publications showing such evidences
• With 2 years and more experience in making and testing MEMS devices
• With 1 year and more working experience in MEMS and Photonics design
• Strong knowledge in L-Edit; Lumerical; CST; COMSOL; ANSYS;
• Fluent in English speaking and writing
• Having more than 1 1st-authored international peer-reviewed journal papers, e.g., Nature Communications and Science Advances (for Research Engineer)
