Job summary

A*STAR Research Entities in Singapore seeks a curious software developer to contribute to aviation and weather domain projects. You will build scalable microservices, implement front-end and back-end features, and translate research requirements into user-centric software.

Collaborate with researchers and product owners, participate in DevSecOps, maintain code quality, and adopt Agile practices to deliver reliable solutions across the full SDLC.

Qualifications

• At least 1+ year of professional software development experience.
• Proficient in front-end and back-end development and able to contribute across the stack.
• Strong knowledge of Java, Node.js, Python, TypeScript and React.
• Solid OOP, quality-focused and secure coding practices.
• Experience with Agile and CI/CD practices and tools.
• Familiarity with cloud tech (AWS) and containerization (Docker, Kubernetes) is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Domain Mastery: learn aviation and weather domain knowledge through OJT to build contextualized solutions.
• Research Translation: work with collaborators to translate research into user-centric software.
• System Design: design and maintain scalable microservices-based systems.
• Feature Development: collaborate to build features and UX-aligned prototypes.
• End-to-End Delivery: participate in ideation through deployment and maintenance.
• DevSecOps & CI/CD: advocate for DevOps and shift security left in pipeline.
• Agile Advocacy: promote agile and continuous delivery practices to deliver value.
