Job summary

A*STAR - Agency for Science, Technology and Research is seeking a Dry/Wet Etch Engineer to perform professional process engineering research, develop and evaluate new processes for IME programs. You will conceive projects, plan material concepts, and compile data to define process specifications.

Role requires hands-on DOE execution, statistical analysis, and strong problem-solving with good interpersonal communication.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in chemistry or chemical engineering with 3+ years in semiconductor processing.
• Bachelor’s with 5+ years in semiconductor process engineering also acceptable.
• Experience with wet etch / wet clean processes is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform professional process engineering R&D and evaluation for IME programs.
• Plan projects defining new materials or approaches for processing.
• Compile and evaluate data to set process specifications.
• Lead experiments to improve quality and yield.
• Set up data collection and generate reports for internal/external use.
• Design DOE studies to characterize process windows for new requirements.
• Collaborate with senior staff to align with technology roadmaps.
• Provide guidance to less experienced colleagues on projects.

Position Profile

Dry/Wet Etch Engineering

Job Responsibilities

• Responsible for performing professional process engineering research, development, and evaluation in support of the IME’s variety of programs requirements
• May conceive and plan projects involving definition and selection of new materials, concepts and approaches in the processing or development of new processes.
• Compiles and evaluates test data to determine appropriate limits and variables for process specifications.
• Championing engineering experiments for process characterization to drive for quality and yield improvement
• Setup and collect the experimental data and generate reports for both internal and customer distribution.
• Design and complete DOE (Design of Experiments) evaluations to characterize process window for new requirements
• Work closely with senior staff and process integrators to understand technology roadmaps, process capability requirements and business issues/ challenges.
• Act as a resource for colleagues with less experience; lead small projects with manageable risks
• Act as subject matter wet etch expert for both internal and external stockholders.

Requirements

• Master’s degree in chemistry, Chemical engineering with 3+ years of relevant work experience in semiconductor process engineering; or
• Bachelor’s degree with 5+ years of relevant work experience in semiconductor process engineering.
• Bachelor’s and master’s degree holders with no experience are also welcome to apply.
• Prior experience in wet etch/ wet clean processes is preferred
• A safety mindset is the most prerequisite for this position.
• Hands-on experience in designing and executing experiments (DOE), statistical and cause analysis, and problem-solving methods
• Possess good interpersonal and communication skills
