Job summary

The National University of Singapore (NUS) is seeking a capable engineer to design and build the foundational substrate for its AI for Science Gym. This role connects scientific data, ML representations, and compute environments, enabling researchers to access scalable, reproducible workflows on HPC infrastructure.

You will contribute to data pipelines, model interfaces, and tokenization pipelines, collaborating with ML researchers and domain scientists to create robust, reusable components for

Qualifications

• Degree in Computational, Engineering, or Physical-Science discipline.
• A Master's or Bachelor's with equivalent research-engineering experience.

Responsibilities

• Data pipelines for electron microscopy, X-ray, and light microscopy datasets; format normalisation.
• Model interfaces with modular Python APIs for representation models and tokenizers.
• Baseline tokenization and cartography pipelines with researchers.
• LLM- and RAG-assisted interfaces for dataset navigation and workflow discovery.
• Forward-compatibility to HPC; containerised, scheduler-friendly deployment on HPC.
