Job summary

NTU’s Dementia Research Centre seeks a motivated Research Assistant to join our team developing digital solutions for cognitive and mental healthcare. You will contribute to building web and mobile applications, APIs, and cloud deployments that support state-of-the-art research and clinical initiatives.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or a related discipline; candidates with a Diploma and relevant industry experience are also encouraged to apply.
• Strong hands-on experience in full-stack application development.
• Proficiency in JavaScript and/or TypeScript; experience in developing backend services using Node.js.
• Experience in developing web applications using React; experience in React Native.
• Familiarity with AWS cloud services and deployment environments; ability to deploy responsive web/mobile apps.

Responsibilities

• Full-stack application development: design, develop, test, and maintain web and mobile apps supporting digital health initiatives.
• Build responsive front-end interfaces using React and React Native.
• Develop and maintain backend services, APIs, and application logic with Node.js and TypeScript.
• Deploy, monitor, secure, and optimise cloud-based applications on AWS.
• Collaborate with researchers and clinicians to translate research requirements into digital solutions.
