Job summary

Ministry of Education, Singapore is seeking a Research Analyst/Senior Research Analyst to contribute to large-scale international studies and local evaluations. You will support MOE Senior Management in decision-making bodies and engage in evaluation planning and reporting.

Qualifications

• Background in Mathematics, Statistics, Econometrics, Computing, Science, or Sociology is preferred.
• Strong analytical mindset and ability to manage data.
• Experience in quantitative/qualitative research or education evaluation is a plus.

What the role is:

As a Research Analyst/ Senior Research Analyst in the Research and Evaluation Branch, you will be involved in large-scale international research studies and local evaluation studies. You can also look forward to professional development opportunities to develop evaluation, research and analytic skills.

What you will be working on:

• Collaborate with international research agencies such as OECD and IEA to conduct large-scale international research studies such as Programme for International Student Assessment (PISA), including planning and overseeing data collection in schools and analysing data to derive insights to inform policymaking, programme development, and improvement of practice
• Support MOE Senior Management as Singapore’s representatives in decision-making bodies overseeing the international research studies
• Support local evaluation studies by using tools such as theories of change and logic models to plan, collect and analyse data, and to report and communicate findings
• Contribute to evaluation capability-building activities such as Evaluation Project Clinics, Professional Learning Circles, and customised sharing and training sessions in MOE Headquarters and beyond

What we are looking for:

• Background in Mathematics, Statistics, Econometrics, Computing, Science, or Sociology is preferred
• Proactive individual with the ability to work both independently and in teams
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
• Prior experience in conducting quantitative/ qualitative research (e.g., data management; data analytics) or evaluation in education would be an advantage
