Job summary

DIRECT SEARCH ASIA PTE. LTD. seeks an experienced commodities trader to build and manage physical and financial positions across renewable fuels and environmental credits.

Develop strategies to improve margins and support portfolio growth, making timely commercial decisions based on market movements and risk exposure. Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Economics, Engineering, Energy or a related discipline.
• At least 3 years of trading experience in renewable fuels or environmental-credit markets.
• Proven ability to make commercially significant decisions independently and as part of a trading team.
• Good understanding of physical and financial commodity trading.
• Familiarity with hedging instruments and price-risk management.
• Strong commercial judgement and the ability to adapt trading strategies as market conditions change.
• Ability to work effectively with counterparties, suppliers, customers and internal stakeholders.
• Entrepreneurial approach with the motivation to develop new business opportunities.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and highly collaborative environment.

Responsibilities

• Build and manage physical and financial positions across renewable fuels and environmental credits.

• Identify, evaluate and execute new sourcing, trading and marketing opportunities.
• Develop strong relationships with external counterparties, suppliers, customers and consultants.
• Understand counterparties’ business requirements, strategies, portfolios and market perspectives.
• Manage price risk through appropriate hedging instruments and position-management strategies.
• Work closely with global trading teams to optimise the overall renewable-fuels portfolio.
• Support regional businesses in meeting applicable regulatory and compliance obligations.
• Gather, analyse and communicate market intelligence to internal stakeholders and senior management.
• Collaborate with refining, marketing, supply, operations and emerging-energy teams.
• Support strategic initiatives involving renewable fuels, low-carbon products and environmental markets.
• Monitor market fundamentals, regulatory developments and changing supply-and-demand dynamics.
• Build subject-matter expertise across renewable fuels, credit mechanisms and relevant trading markets.
• Maintain accurate trading positions, exposure reports and commercial-performance records.
• At least 3 years of trading experience in renewable fuels or environmental-credit markets.
