Job summary

Kake is a remote-first company and a people-first global community of senior engineers. We are seeking a Senior Software Engineer (Node.js/React) to own end-to-end features and help build scalable systems used by millions of users.

You will design REST/GraphQL APIs, work across relational and NoSQL stores, and collaborate with product and design to deliver reliable software in a fast-paced, remote environment.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of software engineering experience with hands-on Node.js and React.
• Experience designing and versioning REST or GraphQL APIs.
• Experience with modern Git workflows, CI/CD, and cloud infrastructure (GCP, AWS or Azure).
• Strong system-design instincts: data modelling, component architecture, and event-driven thinking.
• Proficiency with relational databases and SQL, plus NoSQL such as MongoDB.
• Excellent written and verbal English, and ability to work remotely in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Build and ship production features end-to-end across Node.js backends and React frontends.
• Design, build, and version REST or GraphQL APIs serving as the contract between frontend and backend.
• Make architecture decisions on data modelling, service boundaries, and component design.
• Model and query data across relational and NoSQL stores for various use cases.
• Write clean, well-tested code and set up observability to diagnose live-system issues.
