Role Overview
The Private Wealth Management Relationship Manager (RM) is responsible for developing and managing a portfolio of High Net Worth Individuals (HNWIs). The RM plays a strategic role in acquiring new clients, crafting personalized wealth management solutions, and maintaining long-term client relationships. The role demands a strong understanding of investment products, regulatory requirements, and cross-border wealth management practices.
Key Responsibilities
- Client Acquisition & Relationship Development
- Proactively identify, source, and acquire new HNWI clients, particularly from Greater China.
- Cultivate strong, long-term relationships with clients by understanding their life priorities, business interests, and wealth generation sources.
- Develop customized solutions aligned with clients’ financial goals, risk appetite, and wealth preservation strategies.
- Advisory & Investment Solutions
- Conduct comprehensive financial and investment reviews, recommending appropriate products and services.
- Design and deliver tailored investment portfolios and wealth structuring solutions (e.g., fixed income, equities, FX, funds, alternative investments).
- Provide financing and liquidity solutions where appropriate, including margin financing or structured lending options.
- Client Servicing & Portfolio Management
- Offer ongoing post-sales support, addressing clients’ evolving needs and service requests.
- Monitor client portfolios, proactively recommend adjustments based on market changes or client circumstances.
- Ensure high levels of service quality and responsiveness to build client trust and satisfaction.
- Sales Performance & Business Targets
- Meet or exceed annual revenue and asset growth targets, in line with the bank’s private banking strategy.
- Collaborate with product, investment advisory, and operations teams to achieve cross-functional business goals.
- Compliance & Risk Management
- Maintain strict adherence to regulatory requirements, including MAS and internal Fubon compliance standards.
- Ensure full compliance with AML/KYC, client suitability, and product appropriateness regulations.
- Stay current on regional regulatory changes that impact client onboarding and ongoing relationship management.
Candidate Requirements
- Educational & Professional Background
- Bachelor’s degree (preferably in Finance, Business, Economics or related fields).
- Minimum 5 years of experience in private banking, priority banking, or wealth management.
- Direct experience with Greater China HNW client base is a strong advantage.
- Regulatory & Licensing Competency
- Holder of Singapore’s Client Advisor Competency Standards (CACS), both Module 1 & 2.
- Solid understanding of MAS regulatory framework, including AML/CFT and suitability obligations.
- Client & Market Knowledge
- Deep familiarity with Greater China markets: cultural fluency, language (Mandarin proficiency), and financial product preferences.
- Understanding of offshore and onshore wealth structures relevant to Chinese/Taiwanese clients.
- Product & Technical Knowledge
- Broad knowledge of investment products, financial markets, and wealth management tools.
- Ability to articulate and position complex financial solutions in a clear, client-centric manner.
- Sales & Interpersonal Skills
- Strong client-facing presence, high emotional intelligence, and relationship-building ability.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills to engage HNW clients and influence internal stakeholders.
- Strong business acumen and self-driven to meet KPIs under minimal supervision.
