Job summary

Randstad Singapore is seeking a Senior High Speed Photonics Engineer to lead regional optical and AI datacenter initiatives.

You will guide customers from architecture through deployment, architect validation frameworks for 400G–1.6T transceivers, and collaborate with sales to win strategic designs at a regional scale. Expect travel within South Asia Pacific and a dynamic team environment.

Qualifications

• Master's or PhD in Electrical Engineering, Photonics, Physics.
• 10+ years in applications engineering, design validation, or product engineering focused on high-speed digital or optical technologies.
• Deep knowledge of signal/power integrity, PAM4/NRZ, jitter analysis, channel modeling, and standards (IEEE, OIF, PCI-SIG, JEDEC, CXL).

Responsibilities

• Act as the regional technical expert for high-speed digital, optical communications, and AI datacenter physical-layer technologies, guiding strategic customers from architectural planning to production deployment.
• Architect and deploy validation solutions for optical transceivers (400G-1.6T+), silicon photonics, PCIe Gen5-7, HBM/DDR memory, and AI interconnects.
• Design measurement workflows for signal/power integrity, jitter analysis, BER validation, and compliance testing, integrating test hardware with automation software.
• Partner with sales teams on technical sales, proof-of-concept evaluations, competitive benchmarking, and driving strategic design wins.
• Gather field requirements to influence R&D product roadmaps and represent the organization at key industry conferences, consortiums, and technical forums.

• 10+ years in applications engineering, design validation, or product engineering focused on high-speed digital or optical technologies
• Deep knowledge of signal/power integrity, PAM4/NRZ, jitter analysis, channel modeling, and standards (IEEE, OIF, PCI-SIG, JEDEC, CXL)
• Direct experience operating high-performance equipment, including Oscilloscopes, BERTs, VNAs, DCAs, Lightwave Component Analyzers, and Protocol Analyzers
• Hands-on familiarity with optical transceivers (QSFP-DD, OSFP, OSFP-XD) and emerging pluggable/CPO architectures
• Willingness to travel regionally within South Asia Pacific
