Job summary

KLA is seeking a Regional Development Applications Engineer to specialize in the CI product supporting QC-out inspections of IC packages. You will engage with customers on new IC designs and share knowledge through BKMs, while assessing technical feasibility with engineering to propose clear solutions.

You will serve as the go-to for Customer Engagement Apps Engineers, providing post-sales support, on-site troubleshooting, and escalating issues to Singapore or Belgium engineering teams.

Qualifications

• Master’s or Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering with at least 3 years of industry experience.
• Experience as a technical specialist or application engineer in the semiconductor backend is an advantage.
• You are dynamic and like to interact with people.
• Excellent organizational and self-leadership skills.
• A keen technical mind, an eye for detail, a positive drive and committing to results.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills as well as the ability to absorb and transfer knowledge to others.
• Proficient in English with good communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Specialize into the CI product that handles final QC-out inspection of IC products such as BGA, QFP or QFN packages.
• Engage directly with customers for new IC package designs, and share your recipe development learnings with peers by means of BKMs (Best Known Method).
• Analyzing the technical feasibility of specific customer requirements, you align with the engineering on a solution and formulate a technical proposal in a clear way to customers.
• As the go-to person for the Customer Engagement Apps Engineers, you provide post-sales phone support, go on-site for troubleshooting, or upscale issues to engineering located in Singapore or Belgium.
• Occasional training sessions customers and local customer engagement engineers will be part of the work package.

The ICOS Vision Systems division focuses on the backend of the line semiconductor industry providing fully automated tools to inspect and sort, finished integrated circuit packages. For more than 15 years, ICOS has been a market leader with tray-to-tray and tray-to-tape inspection and sorting tools found in the production facilities of all major chipmakers in the world. This is a position based in Singapore with regular travel in the South-East area (Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand, and the Philippines) as well as occasional travel outside this area.
