Job summary

Our client, an established international organisation with a sizeable overseas presence, is seeking an experienced commercial professional to take on a senior regional appointment.

The successful incumbent will be responsible for expanding the organisation's commercial interests by assessing new markets, establishing business partnerships and converting opportunities into commercially sustainable ventures. The position involves managing substantial business transactions, evaluating financial commitments and working with external parties to conclude agreements involving multiple interests and considerations.

Working within a relatively lean international team, the incumbent will be expected to take ownership of assignments from initial discussions through to implementation. The position requires regular engagement with external decision-makers, financial institutions and internal business functions to resolve commercial challenges and secure workable outcomes.

Successful candidates can expect a broad regional portfolio with considerable exposure to senior management, complex transactions and strategic business decisions within an established international organisation.

REQUIREMENTS

• At least 12 years of relevant experience in commercial leadership, business expansion or transaction-oriented functions, ideally within the Oil & Gas/Energy industry
• Established track record of securing substantial commercial agreements and bringing complex business initiatives to completion.
• Experience managing large-scale projects or investments involving multiple external parties.
• Strong commercial judgement with the ability to evaluate financial returns, contractual obligations and business risks.
• Familiarity with long-term supply arrangements, pricing considerations and commercial contract negotiations.
• Prior involvement in regional assignments covering multiple overseas markets.
• Effective communicator with the confidence to engage senior business leaders, investors and external counterparties.
• Comfortable working independently while coordinating with colleagues from different business functions and locations.
• Advanced qualifications in a relevant discipline would be advantageous.
• Willingness to undertake regular overseas business travel.
