Job summary

RemotePeople is seeking a Regional Technical Lead to own regional production issues, lead a small backend/SRE team, and drive backend module design for the App. You will manage incident response, regional releases, and performance tuning while ensuring data governance and observability across services.

The role combines troubleshooting, development, and ops, requiring deep Java/Spring Boot expertise and strong leadership across regions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or above in CS/SE preferred.
• 8+ years of Java backend development with 2+ years in tech lead or people management.
• Expert in Java/Spring Boot; experience with microservice stacks like Spring Cloud.
• Strong MySQL skills and database performance tuning.
• Proficient with Redis and messaging systems (Kafka/RocketMQ).
• Hands-on incident response, root-cause analysis, and postmortems.
• Solid AWS knowledge and containerization with Docker/Kubernetes.

Responsibilities

• Own regional production issues as incident commander and lead postmortems.
• Maintain regional stability: releases, rollbacks, scaling and incident runbooks.
• Lead design and development of App backend modules (user, community, commerce).
• Ensure data governance and compliant access to production data.
• Lead 1–2 local engineers; liaison between region and HQ team.
• Build self-service tooling to reduce recurring investigations.
