Job summary

ScienTec Consulting Pte Ltd in Pasir Panjang, Singapore is seeking a Frontend Engineer to build and maintain mobile apps using React Native, with opportunities to work close to native code on iOS and Android.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of hands-on React Native development experience.
• Experience with native iOS (Swift/Obj-C) and Android (Kotlin/Java) development.
• Experience integrating RESTful APIs and handling asynchronous data in mobile apps.
• Familiar with mobile app deployment processes (App Store, Google Play).
• Understanding of mobile UI/UX principles and responsive design.

Responsibilities

Job Overview

We are looking for a Frontend Engineer to join our engineering team, building and maintaining mobile applications using React Native. You will play a key role in developing user-facing features for a mobile platform, with the flexibility to work close to native code on iOS and Android when performance, platform-specific behaviour, or third-party SDK integration calls for it.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain cross-platform mobile applications using React Native
• Bridge native iOS (Swift/Objective-C) and Android (Kotlin/Java) modules where React Native alone cannot meet platform requirements
• Collaborate with backend engineers to integrate APIs and ensure smooth data flow between mobile clients and backend services
• Optimise application performance, responsiveness, and stability across both iOS and Android
• Work with product and design teams to translate requirements and UI/UX designs into functional, polished mobile experiences

Required Qualifications

• Minimum 4 years of hands-on experience in React Native development
• Working knowledge of native iOS development (Swift/Objective-C) and native Android development (Kotlin/Java)
• Experience integrating RESTful APIs and handling asynchronous data in mobile applications
• Familiarity with mobile app deployment processes (App Store, Google Play submission and release cycles)
• Understanding of mobile UI/UX principles and responsive design across device types

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with state management libraries (e.g. Redux, MobX, Zustand)
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines for mobile app builds and releases
• Exposure to authentication/authorisation flows (e.g. biometric auth, SSO, Singpass or similar)
• Experience working in Agile/Scrum development environments
