Job summary

GovTech Singapore is seeking an Engineer, Rail Design Development (Civil) to lead design development for railway projects, from new lines to station rejuvenation, coordinating with consultants and internal stakeholders to deliver robust schemes.

You will manage feasibility and advance engineering studies, prepare design briefs, review drawings and tender documents, support tender evaluation, and help set engineering standards while providing technical support for project implementation.

Qualifications

• Knowledge in Civil/Structural Engineering or equivalent.
• At least 3 years of relevant experience in Civil/Structural Engineering design; railway design a plus.
• Team player with good interpersonal and communication skills.
• Candidates with strong relevant years of experience will be considered for senior roles.

Responsibilities

• Design management of railway projects including new lines and station rejuvenation programs.
• Oversee consultants to develop railway schemes and alignments; address overcrowding and accessibility.
• Coordinate with internal stakeholders and government agencies to incorporate requirements into design proposals.
• Safeguard railway corridors, engage stakeholders and operators; secure planning approvals and project budgets.
• Prepare design briefs, review design drawings and tender documents; participate in tender evaluation leading to award.
• Develop and review engineering standards and provide technical support for project implementation.
