Job summary

GovTech Singapore is seeking an Engineer, Rail Design Development (Civil) to lead design development for railway projects, from new lines to station rejuvenation, coordinating with consultants and internal stakeholders to deliver robust schemes.

You will manage feasibility and advance engineering studies, prepare design briefs, review drawings and tender documents, support tender evaluation, and help set engineering standards while providing technical support for project implementation.

Qualifications

• Knowledge in Civil/Structural Engineering or equivalent.
• At least 3 years of relevant experience in Civil/Structural Engineering design; railway design a plus.
• Team player with good interpersonal and communication skills.
• Candidates with strong relevant years of experience will be considered for senior roles.

[What the role is] ENGINEER, RAIL DESIGN DEVELOPMENT (CIVIL)

[What you will be working on]

You will be involved in the design management of railway projects – new rail lines and/or station rejuvenation programme. You will work with a team to oversee consultants to develop railway schemes (new and existing stations), develop new rail alignments, develop strategies to address overcrowding and enhance station accessibility and vibrancy for rejuvenating stations. new rail lines. Your responsibilities include managing the engineering studies (both feasibility and advance engineering studies), coordinating with internal stakeholders and government agencies to incorporate their requirements into the design proposal, safeguarding railway corridors, engaging stakeholders and operators and securing planning approvals and project budgets. You will prepare design brief, review design drawings and tender documents, participate in tender evaluation leading to award of consultants or contractors. You will also develop and review engineering standards as well as providing technical support for project implementation
