Job summary

InternSG is offering an internship in Singapore to support A*STAR SIMTech's project on foamed polymer parts using foam injection moulding. You will assist in material prep, processing trials, data collection and analysis of process-property relationships.

The role focuses on learning polymer processing, experimental design, and safety, with hands-on work on testing and characterisation tools, preparing samples, and compiling technical summaries for reports and presentations.

Qualifications

• Currently pursuing a Diploma or Bachelor's degree in an engineering field.
• Desire to explore polymer processing and advanced manufacturing.
• Willingness to handle laboratory equipment safely and responsibly.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Support development of foam injection moulding processes.
• Assist in material preparation, drying, compounding or additive blending.
• Prepare polymer samples and injection-moulded test specimens.
• Support process trials using chemical blowing agents and thermoplastic resins.
• Help optimise processing parameters such as temperature, injection speed, shot size and moulding conditions.
