Job summary

Schott Singapore Pte. Ltd. is seeking an R&D Engineer / Senior R&D Engineer to own new product development from concept to prototyping, validation and mass production.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Physics, or a related technical discipline.
• Typically 3–7 years of relevant R&D, product development, or engineering experience.
• Strong hands-on experience in product design, DFM, DOE, engineering validation, reliability testing, and structured problem-solving.
• Proven ability to independently manage multiple development projects, priorities, and timelines.

Responsibilities

• Own the full product development journey – transform customer requirements into innovative concepts, designs, prototypes, validated products, and production-ready solutions.
• Bring ideas to life – develop product concepts, specifications, and detailed designs using Creo, SolidWorks, or equivalent.
• Engineer for excellence – apply DFM, DOE, engineering validation, reliability testing, and structured root-cause/failure analysis.
• Lead projects from concept to completion – manage project timelines, milestones, technical risks, costs, and key deliverables.
• Be the technical bridge – engage directly with customers and suppliers on technical requirements, design reviews, troubleshooting, and issue resolution.
• Collaborate across functions – partner with Production, Quality, Supply Chain, and Product Management teams to drive NPI and transfer products into mass production.
• Drive continuous improvement – identify opportunities to enhance product performance, reliability, manufacturability, yield, and cost.

You’ll work at the intersection of innovation, engineering, and customer needs, collaborating with global customers, suppliers, and cross-functional teams to develop advanced solutions for optoelectronics, sensors, and electronic packaging applications.

Key Responsibilities

• Own the full product development journey – transform customer requirements into innovative concepts, designs, prototypes, validated products, and production-ready solutions.

• Bring ideas to life – develop product concepts, specifications, and detailed designs using 3D CAD tools such as Creo, SolidWorks, or equivalent.

• Engineer for excellence – apply Design for Manufacturing (DFM), Design of Experiments (DOE), engineering validation, reliability testing, and structured root-cause/failure analysis.

• Lead projects from concept to completion – manage project timelines, milestones, technical risks, costs, and key deliverables.
