Job summary

PERSOL Singapore Pte Ltd is seeking a Senior Lab/Tech Engineer to lead polymer marking R&D, manage lab operations, and coordinate cross-functional projects at our One-North facility. The role includes client liaison, documentation, and ensuring safety compliance.

The candidate should have a PhD in Chemical Engineering and at least 10 years of experience in polymer R&D and lab leadership, with a strong focus on cost-effective solutions and implementation in client processes.

Responsibilities

• Support the development and implementation of new polymeric marking solutions in polymers, scalable and cost-efficient.
• Conduct and oversee R&D experiments and trials meeting project requirements and industry standards.
• Analyze test results and provide detailed technical reports to the Head of Technology & Commercialization.
• Coordinate with stakeholders to develop Proof of Concepts (POCs) and prototypes showing the technology's application.
• Manage day-to-day lab operations, equipment maintenance, materials procurement, and inventory management.
• Ensure lab safety standards and conform to client requirements for cost-efficient polymer solutions.
• Assist in planning technology implementation projects for clients and provide technical support.
• Participate in client meetings, explaining complex concepts clearly and concisely.
• Support documentation, manuals, and client engagement reports.

Job description

Salary: up to S$15K

Work location: JTC Launchpad @ One-North, 79 Ayer Rajah Crescent, #05-03, Singapore 139955
Work hours: 8.15am to 6.00pm
Package: Retention bonus and Performance bonus apply.

Development:

• Support the development and implementation of new polymeric marking solutions, including formulation and application of markers/codes in various polymer materials, compatible and integrable to client’s process & specifications – that is scalable & cost efficient;

• Conduct and oversee R&D experiments and trials, ensuring compliance with project requirements and industry standards;

• Analyze test results and provide detailed technical reports to the Head of Technology & Commercialization;

• Coordinate with internal and external stakeholders to develop Proof of Concepts (POCs) and prototypes that showcase the technology's application

2. Lab & Testing Management:

• Manage day-to-day lab operations, including equipment maintenance, procurement of materials/chemicals, and inventory management;

• Ensure the lab is configured and structured to meet project needs and safety standards;

• Work on design & development of cost-efficient polymeric material & solutions for integration to the client process in compliance with client requirements;

• Coordinate testing schedules and oversee the execution of tests and pilots both internally and with external testing facilities;

• Maintain comprehensive documentation of all testing activities, results, and processes for internal reviews and external presentations;

• Implement and oversee Health, Environmental, and Safety (HES) protocols in the lab to ensure a safe working environment

3. Client Technology Implementation:

• Assist in the planning and execution of technology implementation projects for clients, ensuring alignment with project timelines and client requirements;

• Act as a technical liaison between the company and clients, providing technical support, troubleshooting, and issue resolution;

• Participate in client meetings and presentations, explaining technical concepts and solutions in a clear and concise manner;

• Support the Head of Technology & Commercialisation in the preparation of technical documentation, operational manuals, and reports for client engagement

4. Project Coordination:

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including R&D, Product Development, and Engineering, to ensure successful project execution;

• Monitor project progress and address any technical challenges that may arise;

• Provide regular updates and feedback to the Head of Technology & Commercialisation on project status, risks, and potential areas for improvement;

• Contribute to the continuous improvement of the polymeric solutions portfolio through innovation and technical excellence

5. Additional Tasks:

• Assist in the organization and logistical planning of technology demonstrations, client site visits, and technical workshops;

• Support the Head of Technology & Commercialisation in identifying new opportunities for technology commercialization and market expansion;

• Staying updated with the latest advancements in polymer science and incorporating new technologies into the development process;

• Train and mentor junior engineers or lab technicians as needed;
