Job summary

Thiam Building Construction Pte Ltd in Singapore is seeking an experienced Quantity Surveyor to manage measurements and cost estimates from tender to final accounts. You will prepare tender documents, evaluate tenders, and negotiate with contractors while overseeing monthly progress claims and variation orders.

You will monitor project budgets and administer post-contracts for main and subcontracts, liaising with consultants, architects, developers, and contractors to certify payments.

Qualifications

• Degree/ Diploma in Quantity Surveying, Building or Civil Engineering.
• 5+ years working experience in tendering, estimating and measurement of quantities.
• Good communication and negotiation skills.
• Candidates with knowledge of SIA Conditions of Contract, REDAS, FIDIC, FIDIC Short Form will be an added advantage

Responsibilities

• Manage and prepare the measurements and cost estimates for the construction projects from initial calculations to the final accounts.
• Prepare tender and contract documents, including bills of quantities.
• Evaluate tenders from contractors and subcontractors and negotiate where appropriate.
• Prepare contract documents in accordance with the regulations.
• Preparation of Monthly Progress claims, variation orders and payments to subcontractors
• Involve in managing and reporting of project budget & cost control
• Responsible in post-contracts administration for both the Main Contract and Subcontracts
• Monitor all financial aspects of the projects to ensure projects run according to budget
• Liaise and establish rapport with consultants, quantity surveyors, architects, developers and contractors on certification of claims for payment
• Be familiar with stages of projects to source viable priced materials
• Share new perspectives on cost, orders and claims
• Advise the management on their position of the contract from the tender stage
