Job summary

GMP Technologies in Singapore is seeking a Quantity Surveyor (Civil Engineering) to study contract documents, perform measurements and prepare Bills of Quantities, while assisting in contract administration and liaising with client representatives on claims and variation costs.

You will prepare monthly budget statements, keep management informed of contractual and site matters, review subcontractor/supplier claims, and attend site and progress claim meetings.

Qualifications

• Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Quantity Surveying, Engineering (Civil) or equivalent.
• At least 3 years of relevant working experience.
• Experience with civil engineering projects, tendering and contract administration.

Responsibilities

• Study contract documents, perform measurements, and prepare Bills of Quantities.
• Assist in contract administration, prepare progress claims, liaise with the client’s representative on claims and variation costs.
• Call quotations, compare prices and prepare Bill of Quantities to arrive at tender pricing.
• Prepare monthly budget statements and have them reviewed by a superior.
• Keep the superior informed of all contractual and site matters.
• Review and verify subcontractors/suppliers claims and prepare payment certificates for approval.
• Attend site meetings and progress claim meetings.
• Monitor projects during the defects liability period after completion.
• Maintain the department’s Quality System and ensure compliance with the WSH Act.

Responsibilities

• To study contract documents, perform measurements and prepare Bill of Quantities;
• To assist in contract administration, prepare progress claim(s) and liaise with the Clients representative on claims and variation costs;
• Call quotations, compare prices and prepare bill of quantities to arrive at the tender pricing;
• To prepare budget statement monthly and review by Superior;
• To keep the Superior informed of all contractual and site matters;
• To review and verify the Subcontractors / Suppliers claims and prepare payment certificates and to obtain approval from Superior, Project Manager and Directors (CE);
• To attend site meeting and progress claim meeting;
• Upon completion of each project, to monitor the respective project during the defects liability period;
• To maintain the Quality System in the Department;
• Under the WSH Act, employees have a duty to keep their workplace and colleagues safe.

Requirements

• Diploma/Bachelors Degree in Quantity Survey, Engineering (Civil) or equivalent with 3 years relevant working experience.
