Currie & Brown is seeking an experienced Quality Manager – CSA & MEP to oversee QA/QC across civil, structural, architectural and MEP works on a flagship project in Singapore.

You will establish quality management processes, monitor construction quality, ensure compliance with designs and standards, and work with project teams, contractors, consultants and client to drive quality performance through the project lifecycle.

Qualifications

  • Degree or diploma in Civil, Structural, Mechanical, Electrical Engineering or Building Services is required.
  • Strong knowledge of QA/QC processes, construction standards and inspection requirements.
  • Experience with ITPs, method statements, RFIs, NCRs, inspections and quality documentation.
  • Proven ability to coordinate inspections and testing with contractors and consultants.
  • Excellent communication, coordination and stakeholder management skills.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, implement and maintain the Quality Management Plan (QMP) for CSA and MEP works.
  • Establish quality procedures, inspection processes and QC requirements for CSA and MEP works.
  • Monitor construction activities for compliance with drawings, specs, and standards.
  • Review and approve quality-related documentation, inspection records and test reports.
  • Coordinate inspections and testing with contractors and consultants; resolve issues.
  • Lead inspections, testing and verification activities and manage non-conformances to close-out.

Job description

We are seeking an experienced Quality Manager – CSA & MEP to oversee and manage quality assurance and quality control activities across Civil, Structural & Architectural (CSA) and Mechanical, Electrical & Plumbing (MEP) works.

The Quality Manager will be responsible for establishing and implementing quality management processes, monitoring construction quality, ensuring compliance with approved designs, specifications and applicable standards, and working closely with the project team, contractors, consultants and client to drive quality performance throughout the project lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities
Quality Management
  • Develop, implement and maintain the project Quality Management Plan (QMP).
  • Establish quality procedures, inspection processes and quality control requirements for CSA and MEP works.
  • Ensure construction activities comply with approved drawings, specifications, method statements and applicable codes and standards.
  • Monitor the implementation of contractors' Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs), quality procedures and inspection regimes.
  • Review and approve quality-related documentation, inspection records and test reports.
CSA Quality
  • Oversee quality control for civil, structural and architectural works, including foundations, concrete, steel structures, building envelope, finishes and associated works.
  • Monitor material quality, workmanship and installation against approved specifications.
  • Identify quality issues and ensure appropriate corrective and preventive actions are implemented.
  • Coordinate inspections and testing with contractors and relevant consultants.
MEP Quality
  • Oversee quality assurance and control for mechanical, electrical and plumbing installations.
  • Ensure MEP installations comply with approved designs, specifications, testing requirements and applicable standards.
  • Monitor installation quality for systems including HVAC, electrical distribution, fire protection, plumbing, BMS and other building services.
  • Review testing, inspection and commissioning documentation.
  • Coordinate closely with MEP contractors and specialist subcontractors to resolve quality issues.
Inspection & Testing
  • Lead and coordinate quality inspections, testing and verification activities.
  • Review Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs), Method Statements, Request for Inspections (RFIs) and associated documentation.
  • Monitor non-conformance reports (NCRs) and ensure timely close-out.
  • Track defects, observations and outstanding quality issues through to resolution.
  • Participate in factory inspections, material inspections and site inspections where required.
Documentation & Reporting
  • Maintain accurate quality records, inspection reports and quality documentation.
  • Prepare regular quality reports for the project/client team.
  • Monitor quality KPIs, NCR trends, defects and corrective actions.
  • Ensure appropriate documentation is maintained for project handover and close-out.
  • Support preparation and review of QA/QC dossiers and as-built documentation.
Stakeholder Management
  • Work closely with the Project Manager, Construction Manager, Design Manager, MEP team and contractors.
  • Coordinate with consultants, client representatives and specialist subcontractors on quality matters.
  • Attend project meetings and provide technical input on quality-related issues.
  • Promote a strong quality culture across the project team and contractor workforce.
Requirements
  • Degree or diploma in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Building Services or a related discipline.
  • Typically 8–12+ years of relevant construction quality experience, preferably with experience managing both CSA and MEP quality.
  • Strong experience in large-scale construction projects; data centre experience is highly desirable.
  • Strong knowledge of QA/QC processes, construction standards, specifications and inspection requirements.
  • Experience with ITPs, method statements, RFIs, NCRs, inspections, testing and quality documentation.
  • Strong understanding of both CSA and MEP construction activities.
  • Experience managing contractors and specialist subcontractors.
  • Strong communication, coordination and stakeholder management skills.
  • Ability to identify quality risks and drive timely corrective actions.
  • Familiarity with relevant international standards and local statutory requirements.
