Job summary

Keysight Technologies in Singapore is seeking a contract System Test Engineer to plan and execute verification and validation for i3070 software and hardware releases. You will develop test strategies, configure systems, and reproduce defects to support quality releases.

The role emphasizes hands-on troubleshooting, test automation, and collaboration with cross-functional teams. Conversion to permanent will be considered at management discretion.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a related engineering or CS field.
• Experience in system-level testing of complex hardware-software products.
• Knowledge of software QA practices and regression testing.
• Hands-on troubleshooting: logs, hardware/software issues.
• Experience with Python or similar scripting.
• Strong written and verbal communication; cross-functional teamwork.
• Familiarity with electronics manufacturing test is a plus.

Responsibilities

This role would be a contract position with possibility of conversion upon management discretion.

• Plan and execute system-level verification and validation for i3070 software and hardware releases.
• Develop test strategies, test plans, test cases, and test reports based on product requirements, design changes, and customer use cases.
• Set up, configure, operate, and troubleshoot i3070 systems, test fixtures, instruments, controllers, and associated software.
• Perform functional, integration, regression, performance, reliability, installation, upgrade, and compatibility testing across hardware and software configurations.
• Reproduce, isolate, document, and track defects; collaborate with development teams to verify fixes and assess release risk.
• Build and maintain automated tests, reusable test utilities, and test environments to improve coverage, repeatability, and execution efficiency.
• Analyse test results and system logs, communicate quality status and technical risks, and provide clear inputs for release decisions.
• Contribute to continuous improvement of test processes, lab practices, documentation, and team knowledge.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical or Electronic Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related discipline.
• Relevant experience in system-level testing of complex products that integrate software, firmware, electronics, instruments, and computer-controlled hardware.
• Strong understanding of software quality assurance practices, test design techniques, defect management, and regression testing.
• Hands-on troubleshooting skills, including the ability to interpret logs, isolate software-versus-hardware issues, and use standard electronic test and measurement equipment.
• Experience with test automation or scripting, such as Python or an equivalent language.
• Ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams and communicate technical findings clearly in written and verbal form.
• Knowledge of electronics manufacturing test or printed circuit board assembly testing is an advantage.
• Experience using or supporting in-circuit testers, particularly Keysight i3070 systems, is highly desirable.
• Experience working in an Agile development environment and with test or defect management tools is beneficial.
