Job summary

Sime Darby Auto Selection Limited in Singapore is hiring a Purchaser (Appraiser) to assess trade-ins and direct purchases for our pre-owned vehicle inventory. You will evaluate vehicle condition, set competitive quotations, and work with internal teams to align valuation strategies.

The ideal candidate has 1–2 years in automotive sales or purchasing, a valid Class 3 driving license, strong negotiation and communication skills, and a proactive, detail‑oriented mindset.

Qualifications

• 1–2 years of experience in automotive sales, purchasing, or technical roles.
• Strong knowledge of vehicles and market trends.
• Excellent negotiation and communication abilities.

Responsibilities

• Provide accurate appraisals for trade-in vehicles and direct purchase requests.
• Work closely with new and used car divisions to align on valuation strategies.
• Assess vehicle condition and adjust quotations based on company guidelines.
• Collaborate with Central Quotation and Purchasing teams to finalize valuations.
• Recommend competitive purchase prices for external acquisition opportunities.
• Liaise with customers selling their vehicles directly to Auto Selection.
• Ensure timely submission of appraisal paperwork and proper data entry in systems (e.g., Moby Purchase, iQuotes).
• Maintain compliance with appraisal procedures and handover processes.
• Participate in price review and coaching sessions with Purchasing leadership.
• Average appraisal time: 15–20 minutes per vehicle
