Job summary

Accenture PLC is expanding its agentic delivery capability and seeks a Forward Deployed AI Engineer to design and implement autonomous and semi-autonomous agents for government and public sector clients. Qualifications

• 4-8+ years of software engineering experience with a strong track record of delivering production systems.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills; comfortable operating independently in client-facing, ambiguous environments
• Hands-on experience developing agentic systems using LLMs, including tool use, function calling, multi-step reasoning, and orchestration
• Highly proficient in Python, Java, React and/or TypeScript
• Experience designing evaluation and guardrail mechanisms for non-deterministic AI systems

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and deploy agentic systems (single and multi-agent) to automate key aspects of public service delivery
• Develop reference architectures, tools, and reusable patterns for agentic delivery in public sector, defense, and public safety contexts
• Create robust evaluation frameworks, observability tools, and guardrails to ensure agent behavior is measurable, safe, and reliable in production
• Establish governance for autonomy levels, human-in-the-loop checkpoints, and escalation protocols, especially in regulated environments
• Select and integrate appropriate technologies for each use case (agent harnesses, IDE-based agents, cloud agents, orchestration frameworks)
• Coach delivery teams on agentic engineering bestpractices and contribute to capability maturity
