Job summary

The PUB Public Utilities Board in Singapore seeks a Senior Engineer for the Catchment & Waterways Department, Reservoir Water Quality and Maintenance Section, Western and Central Unit. You will oversee inter-reservoir transfers, reservoir scouring, and maintenance, ensuring SOP compliance and effective staff deployment.

You should hold a Civil/Environmental engineering degree or equivalent, be calm under pressure, and demonstrate strong communication.

Qualifications

• Degree in Civil/Environmental engineering or equivalent or relevant experience in reservoir operations and maintenance work
• Independent, able to handle unpredictable situations and work under pressure, and competent in executing emergency response plans and SOPs
• Good communication and interpersonal skills and possess a positive, can-do attitude
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Knowledge of Public Sector Conditions of Contract and experience in contract management and administration
• Preferably possess Class 3 Driving licence

Responsibilities

• Oversee and coordinate all inter-reservoir transfer and reservoir scouring operations in accordance with SOP
• Oversee the maintenance of reservoirs, including aquatic plants and flotsam removal
• Monitor reservoir water quality, collect water samples, and take appropriate mitigating measures in accordance with SOP
• Manage midge issues and take appropriate mitigating measures in accordance with SOP
• Oversee attendance to public feedback on reservoir related issues
• Plan, oversee and review staff deployment
• Plan and review response plans and SOPs for emergency incidences
• Contract management and administration including calling, evaluation and award of tenders/quotations
