Job summary

Metta Preschool in Singapore is seeking a Psychologist to support children with developmental needs through assessment, intervention and consultation.

You will work with educators, allied health professionals and families to deliver family-centred support, develop IEPs and provide caregiver coaching.

Qualifications

• Master's Degree in Clinical Psychology, Educational Psychology, or related applied psychology programme.
• Relevant professional training and competency in psychological assessment and intervention.
• Experience working with children and/or individuals with developmental needs.
• Understanding of child development, learning, emotional and social development, and behavioural management.
• Strong assessment, analytical, communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a transdisciplinary team.
• Strong interest in working with children with developmental and special needs.

Responsibilities

• Conduct developmental, school readiness and comprehensive assessments as part of a transdisciplinary team.
• Administer, score and interpret psychological and developmental assessments.
• Develop and review IEPs and monitor children's progress.
• Provide evidence-based interventions to support emotional regulation, behaviour, social communication and social skills.
• Support educational planning, school placement and transition through assessments and recommendations.
• Provide consultation, coaching and guidance to caregivers and educators to promote consistent intervention strategies across home and school.
• Collaborate with educators, allied health professionals and families for integrated family-centred intervention.
• Conduct staff training and professional development to strengthen the team.
• Participate in programme development, evaluation and quality improvement initiatives.
• Maintain accurate clinical documentation and records.
• Perform other duties as assigned by Management.

Job Summary

As a Psychologist at Metta Preschool, you will provide psychological assessment, intervention and consultation to support children's developmental, behavioural, emotional and learning needs. You will work closely with educators, allied health professionals and caregivers to provide integrated and family-centred support.

The role also provides opportunities to contribute through caregiver consultation, staff training, programme development and transdisciplinary collaboration.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct developmental, school readiness and comprehensive needs assessments as part of a transdisciplinary team.

• Administer, score and interpret appropriate psychological and developmental assessments.

• Develop and review Individualised Education Plans (IEPs) and monitor children's developmental progress.

• Provide evidence-based interventions to support emotional regulation, behaviour management, social communication and social skills.

• Support educational planning, school placement and transition through assessment and professional recommendations.

• Provide consultation, coaching and guidance to caregivers and educators to promote consistent intervention strategies across home and school settings.

Essential Requirements

• Master's Degree in Clinical Psychology, Educational Psychology, or a relevant applied psychology programme.

• Relevant professional training and competency in psychological assessment and intervention.

• Experience working with children and/or individuals with developmental needs.

• Good understanding of child development, learning, emotional and social development, and behavioural management.

• Strong assessment, analytical, communication and interpersonal skills.

• Able to work independently and collaboratively within a transdisciplinary team.

• Strong interest in working with children with developmental and special needs.

Preferred Qualifications & Experience

• At least 2 years of relevant experience in an early intervention, educational, clinical or child development setting.

• Full registration or eligibility for registration with the Singapore Register of Psychologists (SRP) or an equivalent recognised professional body.

• Experience working with children with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), Intellectual Disability (ID), or other developmental needs.

• Experience administering standardised psychological and developmental assessments.

• Experience providing caregiver consultation, staff training or behavioural support would be an advantage.
