Job summary

Unknown in Singapore is seeking an experienced Project Manager to lead the planning and execution of new-build shipbuilding projects, with responsibility for safety, schedule, cost, quality, and stakeholder management.

You will direct cross-functional teams, manage risks and changes, and provide regular status updates. A degree in engineering or related discipline and 7+ years of PM experience are required. Proficiency in MS Office; Primavera P6 and PMP certification are advantageous.

Qualifications

• At least 7 years of relevant project management experience, preferably in shipbuilding, marine, engineering, manufacturing, or similar environments.
• Experience managing cross-functional teams, budgets, schedules, risks, and multiple stakeholders.
• Strong knowledge of project planning, cost control, risk management, change management, and governance.
• Excellent written and verbal communication, presentation, problem-solving, and stakeholder management skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office; Primavera P6 and PMP certification or related certification advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end planning and execution of new-build shipbuilding projects per PM standards and contractual requirements.
• Define scope, objectives, deliverables, resources, timelines, budgets, and delivery strategies.
• Develop and maintain detailed project plans, monitor progress, and hit milestones.
• Lead cross-functional internal and external teams with direction and mentorship.
• Identify, assess, and manage risks, issues, dependencies, and opportunities with mitigation and escalation.
• Monitor project costs against budgets, manage variances, and support variation orders.
• Manage scope changes through change-control processes, assessing business and operational impacts.
• Maintain effective communication with sponsors, customers, management and stakeholders.
• Provide regular project status updates, forecasts, and reports supported by data.
• Drive continuous improvement with a focus on safety, quality, timely delivery, and customer satisfaction.

About the Role

Our client is seeking an experienced Project Manager to lead and drive the planning and execution of new-build shipbuilding projects. The role will have overall responsibility for project delivery, including safety, schedule, cost, quality, stakeholder management, risk, and project team leadership.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the end-to-end planning and execution of new-build shipbuilding projects in accordance with project management standards and contractual requirements.
• Define project scope, objectives, key deliverables, resources, timelines, budgets, and delivery strategies.
• Develop and maintain detailed project plans, monitor progress, and ensure key milestones are achieved.
• Lead cross-functional internal and external teams, providing direction, guidance, and mentorship to support effective project delivery.
• Identify, assess, and manage project risks, issues, dependencies, and opportunities, including timely mitigation and escalation where required.
• Monitor project costs and expenditures against approved budgets, manage variances, and support timely management of variation orders.
• Manage project scope and changes through appropriate change-control processes while assessing business and operational impacts.

Requirements

• Degree in Engineering, Naval Architecture, Business, or a related discipline.
• At least 7 years of relevant project management experience, preferably in shipbuilding, marine, engineering, manufacturing, or other complex project environments.
• Demonstrated experience managing complex projects involving cross-functional teams, budgets, schedules, risks, and multiple stakeholders.
• Strong knowledge of project planning, cost control, risk management, change management, and project governance.
• Strong written, verbal communication, presentation, problem-solving, and stakeholder management skills.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office; experience with Primavera P6, PMP certification, or relevant marine/project management certification will be an advantage.
