Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in CS/IT or related field.
• Hands-on Java application experience with SQL databases.
• Public sector/government project experience preferred.
• Proven ability to manage software development teams and cross-functional stakeholders.
• Jira/Confluence experience preferred; PMP/PMI-ACP assets.

Responsibilities

• Plan, track, and execute application enhancements, maintenance schedules, and milestones.
• Partner with end users, business teams, and technical specialists to translate business needs into technical specs.
• Collaborate with architects to design robust, scalable systems meeting UX and governance.
• Direct SIT, UAT, and security/compliance testing cycles.
• Provide ongoing operational support and incident resolution.
• Monitor application performance and coordinate across teams to mitigate risks.

Your Role as a Project Manager:

You will oversee technology projects that meaningfully improve how public sector services are delivered. Working across teams, from business analysts to product stakeholders - you'll drive user-centric solutions from concept to completion. You're digitally savvy, naturally proactive, and energised by finding innovative ways to apply AI and emerging tech to real-world needs.

Key Responsibilities

• Plan, track, and execute application enhancements, maintenance schedules, and project milestones to guarantee high-quality, timely deliverables.
• Partner closely with end users, business teams, and technical specialists to analyze operational workflows and translate business needs into technical specifications.
• Work alongside enterprise, solution, and technical architects to design robust, scalable systems that satisfy user experience benchmarks and adhere to governance frameworks.
• Direct comprehensive pre-launch testing cycles, including system integration (SIT), user acceptance (UAT), and security/compliance assessments.
• Provide sustained operational support, working in tandem with product and engineering teams to troubleshoot defects and resolve live incidents.
• Oversee ongoing application performance, proactively monitoring stability and coordinating across technical teams to mitigate operational risks.

What you bring

• Bachelor's degree or Diploma in Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering, or a related field.
• Hands-on background in Java application architecture and development; practical familiarity with JavaScript and relational databases (SQL) is a strong advantage.
• Prior experience delivering or managing application projects within the public sector or government domain is not required, but preferred.
• Proven ability to manage software development teams, including sprint planning, resource/task allocation, technical guidance, and delivery oversight.
• Broad track record guiding applications across all phases of the software development lifecycle within cross-functional environments, including delivering results with lean resources.
• Practical experience with Jira and Confluence is preferred. Professional credentials such as PMP, PMI-ACP, CSM, CSPO, or CBAP/PMI-PBA are an asset.
• Strong technical writing and communication skills, with extensive practice producing clear system documentation and functional specs.
• Highly detail-oriented, adaptable under pressure, and capable of prioritizing competing tasks to drive deliverables to completion.
