Job summary

Zenika is seeking a Production Support specialist who believes the true test of software happens after the Go-Live. You are the guardian of system stability, a calm voice during critical incidents, and you dig into code and data to understand why things failed.

You will own the Run phase for critical applications, monitor health with Datadog, and resolve incidents across Python, Java and SQL in an AWS environment. You’ll contribute to automation and robust runbooks in a collaborative Agile team.

Qualifications

• 5+ years hands-on experience in application support or production engineering.
• Strong command of SQL and scripting.
• Experience with cloud platforms (AWS) and monitoring tools (Datadog).
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and SDLC.

Responsibilities

• Production Monitoring & Health: monitor application health and performance using Datadog and cloud-native dashboards.
• Incident Management & Resolution: diagnose, mitigate, and resolve incidents across Python, Java, and SQL to minimize business impact.
• Deep-Dive Root Cause Analysis (RCA): investigate recurring issues and implement long-term fixes with dev teams.
• Cloud Operations & Deployment: support AWS-hosted apps, assist in releases and patches via CI/CD pipelines with safe rollback readiness.
• System Optimization: analyze performance and implement tuning (SQL, resource scaling).
• Operational Excellence: automate toil and maintain runbooks and documentation for knowledge base.
• Stakeholder Engagement: provide clear technical support to end-users and communicate with diverse stakeholders during high-pressure situations.

You are the guardian of system stability, an expert troubleshooter, and a calm voice during critical incidents. You don’t just restart services; you dig into the code and data to understand why things failed, ensuring that our clients’ web solutions are resilient, observable, and high-performing.

Your Role as a Zenika Consultant:

You will take ownership of the "Run" phase for critical applications, ensuring they meet the high standards of a modern production environment.

Core Responsibilities:

• Production Monitoring & Health: Proactively monitor application health and performance using Datadog and cloud-native dashboards. Identify trends before they become outages.
• Incident Management & Resolution: Act as the primary responder for application incidents. You will diagnose, mitigate, and resolve issues across Python, Java, and SQL layers to minimize business impact.
• Deep-Dive Root Cause Analysis (RCA): Conduct thorough investigations into recurring issues. Partner with development teams to implement long-term fixes and prevent future occurrences.
• Cloud Operations & Deployment: Support applications hosted on AWS. Assist in the deployment of new releases and patches via CI/CD pipelines, ensuring safety and rollback readiness.
• System Optimization: Analyze application performance and implement tuning measures (SQL optimization, resource scaling) to ensure system sustainability.
• Operational Excellence: Identify opportunities to automate manual support tasks (toil). Maintain high-quality runbooks and technical documentation for the support knowledge base.
• Stakeholder Engagement: Provide clear technical support to end-users and communicate effectively with diverse stakeholders during high-pressure situations.

What you bring:

• Only Singaporeans may apply due to the nature of the project.
• Experience: At least 5 years of hands-on experience in application support or production engineering.
• Technical Proficiency:
• Languages: Strong command of SQL
• Environment: Deep familiarity with Unix/Linux systems and shell scripting.
• Cloud & Tools: Hands-on experience with AWS, Datadog, and Git.
• DevOps Literacy: Understanding of CI/CD pipelines and the Systems Development Life Cycle (SDLC).
• Mindset: An Agile, fast learner who enjoys complex problem-solving and works well in a collaborative team environment.
