Job summary

Turner & Townsend in Singapore is seeking an experienced Project Manager to lead end-to-end delivery of data centre construction projects, including new builds, expansions, fit-outs, and upgrades. You will develop execution plans, schedules and budgets, and manage scope, risks and governance.

The role requires strong coordination with architects, consultants, engineers and contractors, rigorous safety and quality oversight, and a hands-on approach to commissioning, IST, and handover to

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Civil/Mechanical/Electrical Engineering, Construction Management, Building Services, or related discipline.
• 8+ years of experience in construction project management.
• 3–5 years managing mission-critical data centre, semiconductor, pharmaceutical, logistics, or industrial projects.
• Strong understanding of MEP systems within critical environments.
• Knowledge of Tier III/Tier IV data centre design principles.
• Familiarity with commissioning, IST, and operational readiness requirements.
• Understanding of construction contracts, procurement, scheduling, and cost management.

Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end delivery of data centre construction projects, including new builds, expansions, fit-outs, and upgrades.
• Develop project execution plans, schedules, budgets, and resource strategies.
• Monitor progress and implement actions to mitigate schedule and cost risks.
• Manage project scope, change orders, risk registers, and governance processes.
• Coordinate with architects, consultants, engineers, and contractors during design and construction phases.
• Review design docs, drawings, and technical specs for compliance.
• Ensure construction activities align with approved plans, codes, and client requirements.
• Oversee site activities, milestones, and contractor performance.
• Lead project meetings, progress reviews, and stakeholder updates.
• Coordinate IST and commissioning activities and ensure readiness of critical infrastructure (Electrical, UPS, generators, HVAC, fire systems, BMS/DCIM).
• Support successful handover to facility and operations teams.
• Promote a strong safety culture and ensure compliance with safety standards.
• Drive quality reviews, inspections, and issue resolution.

Job Description

Project Management

• Lead end-to-end delivery of data centre construction projects, including new builds, expansions, fit-outs, and upgrades.
• Develop project execution plans, schedules, budgets, and resource strategies.
• Monitor project progress and implement corrective actions to mitigate schedule and cost risks.
• Manage project scope, change orders, risk registers, and project governance processes.

Design & Construction Oversight

• Coordinate with architects, consultants, engineers, and contractors during design and construction phases.
• Review and validate design documentation, construction drawings, and technical specifications.
• Ensure construction activities comply with approved plans, building codes, and client requirements.
• Oversee site activities and construction milestones.
• Manage general contractors, subcontractors, suppliers, and commissioning partners.
• Monitor contractor performance, project deliverables, and contractual compliance.
• Lead project meetings, progress reviews, and stakeholder updates.
• Coordinate integrated systems testing and commissioning activities.
• Ensure readiness of critical infrastructure including:
  • Electrical distribution systems
  • UPS and backup power systems
  • Generators and fuel systems
  • HVAC and cooling systems
  • Fire detection and suppression systems
  • BMS/DCIM platforms
• Support successful operational handover to facility and operations teams.

Health, Safety & Quality

• Promote a strong safety culture across all project activities.
• Ensure compliance with workplace safety regulations and site safety standards.
• Conduct project quality reviews, inspections, and audits.
• Drive resolution of construction quality issues and defects.
