Job summary

Our Client, a Japanese mechanical and electrical engineering company, is seeking a Project Engineer to carry on existing projects and improve efficiency. You will be working at the Client's project site.

Responsibilities include managing projects, coordinating resources, monitoring subcontractors, liaising with customers and authorities, and ensuring quality and safety on site. This role requires strong coordination, problem-solving, and the ability to provide on-the-job training to new staff.

Responsibilities

• Manage and oversee assigned projects and requisition necessary resources (labour, materials, equipment).
• Plan and coordinate timely delivery of resources to minimize wastage.
• Monitor sub-contractor performance and overall project progress against the schedule, implementing corrective actions when necessary.
• Liaise with customers, consultants, and statutory authorities regarding work progress, plan approvals, and site issues.
• Coordinate with the Purchasing Department for project-related deliveries.
• Manage contract administration, including claims, variations, and final accounts.
• Supervise sub-contractors, conduct quality checks on site, and ensure safety practices are followed.
• Solve technical or site coordination problems and carry out material inspections.
• Conduct project planning, prepare shop drawings, and manage material requisitions/site stock.
• Ensure all site execution complies with approved drawings and instructions from clients or main contractors.
• Provide on-the-job training to new staff and handle additional assignments as directed by management.
