Job summary

WEBUILQ PTE LTD is seeking a Project Engineer in Singapore to plan, develop and manage construction-based projects. You will facilitate designs, ensure safety, and oversee the efficient execution of construction activities.

Key duties include assisting the Project Manager on-site, coordinating with consultants and contractors, managing budgets, and preparing monthly progress reports. A degree in engineering and 5 years of relevant experience are preferred.

Qualifications

• Degree in Civil & Structural / Construction Management / Mechanical / Electrical Engineering.
• 5 years of relevant construction industry experience.
• Experience with Additions & Alterations (A&A) works in commercial building upgrading projects.
• Ability to read and interpret drawings and engineering reports.
• Good communication skills and ability to work with multiple stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Assist Project Manager in on-site supervision.
• Plan, schedule, forecast and coordinate technical and management aspects of projects.
• Manage and plan construction projects and associated budgets.
• Assist in tendering and budgeting for projects.
• Monitor and control costs of materials and labor.
• Coordinate and check engineering deliverables.
• Attend site meetings and monitor project progress.
• Liaise with consultants, main/sub-contractors, suppliers and authorities.
• Prepare monthly status reports and change orders.
• Oversee daily project execution activities.

About the role

As Project Engineer, you will plan, develop and manage construction-based projects. You will facilitate construction designs and ensure that these designs are implemented with utmost safety and that the whole process flows efficiently. You will ensure that the materials in use are safe and that the methods being used are appropriate.

Job responsibilities

• Assist Project Manager in site supervision
• Plan, schedule, forecast, conduct and coordinate the technical and management aspects of projects
• Manage and plan the construction project
• Assist in project tendering and budget for the project within an estimated cost
• Control the cost of materials and labor
• Coordinate and check engineering deliverables
• Attend site meetings, inspections and monitor project progress
• Liaise and coordinate with all parties involved in projects such as consultants, main contractors, sub-contractors, suppliers, local authorities, environmental agencies and federal entities
• Prepare monthly project status reports and change orders
• Manage the daily operation of project execution

Requirements:

• Degree in Civil & Structural / Construction Management / Mechanical / Electrical Engineering
• Prior 5 years working experience in construction industry
• Experience in Additions & Alterations (A&A) works in commercial building upgrading project
• Comprehension for written or verbal graphic instructions
• Good communication skills
• Relevant on-site working experience
• Knowledge in Microsoft office (Excel, Word)
• Ability to write / understand mechanical & electrical engineering reports
• Excellent problem-solving skills
• Able to work independently with minimum supervision
