Direct Search Global is seeking a Project Engineer (Marine Ship Repair) in Singapore to coordinate vessel repair, maintenance, retrofitting and upgrading projects. The role involves liaising with shipowners, shipyards, subcontractors and internal teams to ensure timely, cost-effective execution.

You will assist the Project Manager with schedules, milestones and progress tracking while maintaining accurate work orders, repair specifications and service reports.

Competenze

• Diploma or Degree in Marine Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Naval Architecture or related discipline.
• Familiarity with vessel repair, dry-docking, retrofitting and marine maintenance activities.
• Good coordination, communication and organisational skills.
• Ability to liaise effectively with shipowners, shipyards, subcontractors and internal stakeholders.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and project documentation.

Project Engineer (Marine Ship Repair)

Job Responsibilities:

• Coordinate and oversee day-to-day project activities for vessel repair, maintenance, retrofitting and upgrading projects, ensuring work progresses according to the agreed schedule and project requirements.
• Liaise with shipowners, vessel operators, shipyard personnel, subcontractors and internal departments to ensure smooth coordination and execution of repair works.
• Assist the Project Manager in developing project schedules, tracking milestones, monitoring work progress and ensuring timely completion of assigned projects.
• Coordinate manpower, materials, equipment and subcontractor arrangements to support ongoing ship repair and maintenance activities.
• Monitor project costs, prepare quotations, track expenses and assist in maintaining project budgets to ensure cost-effective execution.
• Prepare and maintain project documentation, including work orders, repair specifications, progress reports, service reports, delivery orders and other relevant technical documents.
• Attend project meetings, conduct site visits and coordinate with technical teams to address operational issues, work delays and other project-related matters.
• Ensure all project activities comply with applicable safety regulations, shipyard requirements, quality standards and client specifications.

Requirements:

• Diploma or Degree in Marine Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Naval Architecture or a related discipline.
• Familiarity with vessel repair, dry-docking, retrofitting and marine maintenance activities.
• Good coordination, communication and organisational skills.
