Job summary

Hirehub Group is seeking a skilled Electrical Commissioning Engineer for on-site installation, commissioning, and handover of electrical gear, switchgear, and HVAC systems in Singapore. You will lead the full commissioning cycle, manage safety and quality, and coordinate with subcontractors to deliver projects on time.

Candidates should hold a diploma or higher in electrical engineering with EMA electrical qualification; willingness to travel to Malaysia for short periods is required.

Qualifications

• Diploma or higher in electrical engineering with EMA electrical qualification.
• Experience with installation and commissioning of LV/HV equipment and transformers; HVAC background acceptable.
• Willing to travel to Malaysia for short periods; cross-regional projects.
• Possess Singapore citizenship or PR preferred; compliance with EMA requirements.

Responsibilities

• Provide on-site installation guidance, commissioning, acceptance, and O&M of electrical equipment and switchgear.
• Coordinate commissioning of HVAC systems with electrical systems; ensure integration & testing.
• Review drawings, specs, and docs before commissioning and supervise commissioning personnel.
• Lead commissioning plans, testing, and risk assessments; ensure safety and quality compliance.
• Track progress, prepare reports, and communicate updates to clients.
• Conduct post-commissioning reviews to identify improvements and lessons learned.

Company Background

Our client specialise in manufacture and repair of switchgear, switchboards, electrical control panels, electric motors, transformers, and power distribution equipment. They provide electrical manufacturing and engineering solutions for industrial and commercial applications in Singapore.

Job Responsibilities

• Responsible for on-site installation guidance, commissioning, acceptance, and daily operation and maintenance of high and low voltage electrical equipment, distribution cabinets, transformers, and generator sets.
• Responsible for the installation, commissioning, parameter calibration, operational testing, and troubleshooting of the project's air conditioning and HVAC systems; coordinating the integration and commissioning of HVAC and electrical systems.
• Strictly adhere to Singapore EMA electrical industry standards and local engineering safety standards, ensuring compliance management of on-site construction.
• Manage the full commissioning cycle from pre- commissioning through final handover.
• Prepare and execute commissioning plans, procedures, and schedules.
• Coordinate commissioning activities to ensure projects are delivered safely, on time.
• Carry out site inspections, risk assessments, and resolve technical issues during commissioning.
• Lead testing and validation of M&E systems to ensure compliance with project specifications, regulatory requirements, and operational standards.
• Review engineering drawings, specifications, manuals, and related documents before commissioning.
• Supervise commissioning personnel and subcontractors while ensuring compliance with HSE and quality requirements.
• Track commissioning progress, prepare reports, and provide regular updates to clients and stakeholders.
• Conduct post-commissioning reviews to identify improvements and capture lessons learned.

MUST-have Qualifications

• Must be a Singapore citizen or Singapore permanent resident.
• Possess a diploma or higher in electrical engineering or a related STEM field, and hold an official Singapore EMA electrical qualification.
• Experience in the installation and commissioning of high and low voltage electrical equipment, distribution cabinets, transformers, and generator sets, or a background in air conditioning or HVAC technology.
• If have a valid LOC electrical professional certificate will be added advantage; compliance is required for employment.
• Willing to travel to Malaysia for short periods; adaptable to the work pace of cross-regional projects.
• Travel or be stationed at project sites as required.

Location: Singapore
