Job summary

FUCHI PTE LTD is seeking a Project Director to lead the entire ERSS and temporary works project portfolio in Singapore. You will provide strategic direction to Project Managers and cross-functional teams, ensuring safe, on-time, on-budget delivery with high quality aligned to financial and operational goals.

The role requires 15+ years in construction, 8+ years in senior leadership, and strong knowledge of local regulations (MOM, BCA, LTA).

Qualifications

• 15+ years of construction experience
• 8+ years in senior project leadership
• Extensive ERSS, deep excavation, piling, geotechnical or civil engineering experience
• Proven track record managing multiple concurrent projects with total value > S$100 million annually
• Strong knowledge of Singapore construction regulations and LTA/BCA project requirements

Responsibilities

• Lead and oversee the execution of 20+ ERSS projects annually
• Direct Project Managers in planning, execution, monitoring and successful project completion
• Ensure projects comply with contractual, technical and statutory requirements
• Review project performance and implement recovery plans
• Develop overall project execution strategies and resource allocation plans
• Monitor schedules, costs and profitability
• Drive continuous improvement in project delivery and operational efficiency
• Resolve major project issues, risks and commercial matters
• Maintain relationships with clients, consultants, developers and main contractors
• Lead high-level project meetings and commercial discussions
• Support Business Development in securing repeat business and strategic opportunities
• Ensure projects achieve targeted gross profit and cash flow objectives
• Review budgets, forecasts, cost reports and financial performance
• Approve major procurement and project expenditure within delegated authority
• Work with Commercial and Finance on claims, variations and final accounts
• Lead, coach and develop Project Managers and site teams
• Plan manpower, machinery and equipment utilization
• Promote collaboration across departments
• Champion safety culture and compliance with MOM, BCA, LTA and HSE requirements
• Ensure compliance with ISO management systems and project quality standards

Job description

The Project Director is responsible for leading and overseeing the successful delivery of the Company's entire portfolio of ERSS and temporary works projects. The role provides strategic leadership to Project Managers and cross-functional teams to ensure projects are delivered safely, on schedule, within budget, and to the highest quality standards while achieving the Company's financial and operational objectives.

KeyResponsibilities

1.Project Leadership

• Lead and oversee the execution of more than 20 ERSS projects annually.
• Direct Project Managers in planning, execution, monitoring and successful project completion.
• Ensure projects comply with contractual, technical and statutory requirements.
• Review project performance and implement recovery plans where necessary.

2.Operational Management

• Develop overall project execution strategies and resource allocation plans.
• Monitor project schedules, productivity, costs and profitability.
• Drive continuous improvement in project delivery and operational efficiency.
• Resolve major project issues, risks and commercial matters.

3.Client & Stakeholder Management

• Maintain strong relationships with clients, consultants, developers and main contractors.
• Lead high-level project meetings and commercial discussions.
• Support Business Development in securing repeat business and strategic opportunities.

4.Financial Management

• Ensure projects achieve targeted gross profit and cash flow objectives.
• Review project budgets, forecasts, cost reports and financial performance.

• Work closely with Commercial and Finance teams on claims, variations and final accounts.

5.Resource & People Management

• Lead, coach and develop Project Managers and site management teams.
• Plan manpower, machinery and equipment utilization across all projects.
• Promote collaboration between Operations, Technical, Commercial, HSE, QAQC and Supply Chain departments.

6.Safety, Quality & Compliance

• Champion a strong safety culture and ensure compliance with MOM, BCA, LTA and company HSE requirements.
• Ensure compliance with ISO management systems and project quality standards.
• Lead investigations and corrective actions for significant incidents.

7.Strategic Leadership

• Support Operations Director in achieving annual business objectives.
• Participate in strategic planning, budgeting and business improvement initiatives.
• Identify operational risks and implement mitigation strategies.
• Drive innovation, digitalization and process improvements across project operations.

Qualifications

• Degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management or related discipline.
• Professional Engineer (PE) qualification is an advantage.
• Project Management certification is preferred.

Experience

• Minimum 15 years of construction experience.
• Minimum 8 years in senior project leadership.
• Extensive experience in ERSS, deep excavation, piling, geotechnical or civil engineering projects.
• Proven experience managing multiple concurrent projects with a total value exceeding S$100 million annually.
• Strong knowledge of Singapore construction regulations and LTA/BCA project requirements.
