Job Description

We are a global multi-strategy hedge fund. Within our APAC business we run all six of the firm's strategies — Credit, Fundamental Equities, Macro, Systematic, Commodities, and Equity Arbitrage. Job Description

We are a global multi-strategy hedge fund. Within our APAC business we run all six of the firm's strategies — Credit, Fundamental Equities, Macro, Systematic, Commodities, and Equity Arbitrage. The COO Office sits between the portfolio managers and the firm's support functions (Operations, Trading, Risk, Technology, Product Control, Legal & Compliance, Treasury, Tax), making sure PM needs are translated into action and delivered without things falling through the cracks.

Role

This is a hands-on, cross-functional role built around three pillars, and you will spend real time in all three rather than sitting in a back-office project seat:

  • PM engagement — you are a trusted point of contact for the desks, close to the investment teams and what they need.
  • Project & request coordination — you drive requests and projects end-to-end across every support function, keeping them moving and everyone accountable.
  • Broker relations & onboarding — you own the coordination of bringing on new brokers and counterparties. It is a high-visibility seat that gives broad exposure to how an institutional hedge fund actually runs — you will interact daily with senior people across the front, middle, and back office. It suits someone organised, proactive, and comfortable chasing things to completion.
What You'll Do
PM engagement
  • Act as a first point of contact for PMs raising requests, questions, or new ideas, and make sure each one is captured, understood, and routed to the right place.
  • Build trusted relationships with PMs and desk staff across the six strategies, learning each desk's instruments, workflows, and priorities.
  • Keep PMs informed on the status of their open requests so they always have visibility, rather than chasing for updates. Project & request coordination
  • Help manage the intake of incoming requests — logging, classifying, and tracking them through to delivery, and coordinating deliverables and milestones across functions.
  • Coordinate cross-functional requests (e.g. new instrument or market access, data and systems builds, tooling) across Investment, Operations, Trading, Risk, Technology, Product Control, Legal & Compliance, Treasury, and Tax — partnering with each team to capture requirements and helping translate them into process or system solutions.
  • Help maintain accurate records of stakeholders, approvals, conditions, and timelines for each request, keeping each one moving and unblocked.
  • Conduct data and workflow analysis to spot automation or efficiency opportunities, and help improve the team's request-tracking process and tooling, including stakeholder maps and turnaround targets.
  • Prepare project documentation, dashboards, and management reporting, and support governance forums (e.g. new-product / new-activity reviews and regular operating syncs).
  • Support broader strategic initiatives that help the multi-strategy platform scale with the right controls in place.
Broker relations & onboarding
  • Coordinate the onboarding of new brokers and counterparties end-to-end.
  • Maintain the broker/counterparty inventory and supporting reference data, and serve as a coordination point for broker queries and reviews.
Required
What we're looking for
  • 0–3 years of experience — recent graduates welcome. Internships or a first role in financial services (buy-side, sell-side, Big 4, or a financial-services consultancy) are a plus but not essential.
  • Strong organisational skills and genuine attention to detail; able to track many moving parts without dropping any.
  • Clear, confident written and verbal communication, and the maturity to interact with senior stakeholders.
  • A proactive, entrepreneurial mindset with strong initiative — comfortable taking ownership, chasing, following up, and pushing things to completion without being told.
  • Strong with Excel and PowerPoint; quick to learn new systems and tools.
  • Eligible to work in Hong Kong or Singapore.
Nice to have
  • Familiarity with financial instruments across asset classes (equities, credit, rates, FX, commodities, derivatives).
  • Awareness of trade lifecycle, broker/counterparty onboarding, or hedge-fund operations.
  • Ability to code (e.g. Python, SQL, VBA) is a plus, though not required.
  • A strong academic record in any discipline — we care more about analytical ability and critical thinking than the specific subject, though computer science, business analytics, mathematics, statistics, finance, and economics are all a natural fit.
What You'll Get
  • Broad, direct exposure to every function of an institutional multi-strategy hedge fund, and a network across the APAC business from day one.
  • Mentorship and close working relationships across the COO Office and the wider APAC business.
  • A role with real ownership and visible impact, and a clear path to grow as you take on more responsibility
