NTU Singapore, within the School of Physical and Mathematical Sciences, invites applications for an established scientist to lead photonics research and co‑manage the Centre for Disruptive Photonic Technologies (CDPT) at NTU and the Optoelectronics Research Centre (ORC) at the University of Southampton. Split time: NTU 80%, Southampton 20%.

The Division of Physics and Applied Physics in the School of Physical and Mathematical Sciences of NTU provides a multidisciplinary academic program that provides students with a wide-ranging and up-to-date education. This hiring intends to strengthen the division’s research activity in Photonics or closely related areas, and to foster the existing partnership with the University of Southampton. The candidates are expected to:

Requirements:

• PhD in Physics or a related discipline
• Strong record of research and relevant publications in reputable peer‑reviewed international journals
• A good track record of securing competitive research grants
• A good track record of supervising research staff, postdocs, PhD students, and interns in relevant fields
• Experience in cross‑disciplinary research initiatives and collaboration

• Encouraged to provide at least 3 external referee reports, which may support the evaluation process. All referees should hold an academic position that is at least one rank higher than the appointment.
